chicken curry recipe

Here's a lovely spicy chicken curry recipe that's easy to prepare. An easy chicken curry cooked in a single pot with no marinating for hours. A delicious, healthy curry that anyone can make, and you can use lamb if you prefer, or fish, or vegetables if you're a vegetarian. This most basic of chicken recipes is also one of the tastiest! Serve Chicken Curry with hot Chapatis.

I've loved curry ever since I was a teenager. And having been a student, I tried loads of different styles of curry, from Indian and Chinese takeaways and restaurants, to homemade efforts that consisted of opening a can of anything and dumping a load of curry powder into it!

Ingredients:

Chicken                              250 gm

Onion                                 1 large

Tomatoes                          3 medium

Curd                                   ¼ cup

Ginger garlic paste          2 tsp

Chili powder                     1 tsp

Coriander powder            1tsp

Pinch turmeric                 1

Oil                                      1tbsp

Sprigs fresh coriander     4-5

Salt                                    as per taste

Method:

1. Clean and wash chicken.

2. Heat oil and fry chopped onion along with ginger garlic paste for a little while.

3. Remove and gring to a fine paste. Cook the paste along with the whole masala till golden brown.

4. Add turmeric powder, chili powder and salt to taste.

5. Now add tomato puree and cook till the oil comes out.

6. Now add the chicken pieces and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes.

7. Cook on slow flame for another 5 to 10 minutes.

8. Make a parting in the center of the pan and add curd.

9. Slowly fold the chicken pieces.

10. Cook till the chicken is done

11. Now your chicken curry is ready.

Serve it with rice and roti…
